Adobe announces Graphics Server 2

On 9 September Adobe announced Graphics Server 2. The software, also known as Adobe AlterCast, builds a high-performance networked graphics environment for web-oriented and other publishing systems. The new version features tight integration with new Adobe products and improved performance.

Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 integrates with Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive and InDesign to create new templates that can be updated automatically. Also announced:

  • EPS and PDF support;
  • SVG to PDF conversion;
  • extended image metadata support;
  • CMYK image processing;
  • clipping path support.

Graphics Server 2.0 will be available at the end of 2002 at $7,500.
