New fonts from ParaType

As the Open Systems publishing house reports http://www.osp.ru/, ParaType has released several new fonts.

Adonis — a typeface designed by Natalia Vasilieva, with somewhat elongated character proportions, rounded serifs and a soft drawing. In dense text it reads well at small sizes. Intended for text and display setting.

Duetto — the typeface is a “subtraction” of one contrasting typeface from another — PT FreeSet, upright, and TM Miniature, italic — followed by deconstruction. The alphabet consists only of lowercase letters. Designer Boris Popov.

Eras — an unusual sans serif with a slight rightward slant. The strokes have a slight concave curve (reverse entasis). A distinctive feature is the large x-height. The sources of the design are archaic stone-cut inscriptions of Ancient Greece and Roman capitals. The typeface was created by the French designer Albert Boton together with Albert Hollenstein; the Cyrillic version was designed by Gayaneh Bagdasaryan for ParaType.

Mas d’Azil — a typeface based on the signs found in the Mesolithic cave of Mas d’Azil (France).

Petroglyph was designed by Ekaterina Kulagina from rock drawings (petroglyphs) known in 77 countries of the world.

Stroganov — a low-contrast typeface with irregular one-sided serifs designed by Oleg Karpinsky. Named after Count Sergei Stroganov and intended for display setting.

Zapf Elliptical 711 — a version of the Melior typeface (Linotype) developed by Bitstream. A typeface with a strong, legible design originally intended for newspaper setting. The Cyrillic version was designed for ParaType by Natalia Vasilieva.
